WID sponsorship opportunities have been defined for both large and small businesses and each includes Single Event packages and annual Gold and Silver sponsorships. Single Event Sponsorships are designed to showcase a company at a WID event of the sponsor’s choosing. This includes a booth for marketing materials, sponsorship acknowledgement in the event announcements, and event tickets. Silver sponsorships also include advertising at an event, participation in the WID Mentorship program, and matchmaking with a large or small business. Gold level sponsorships also include naming tights for a key event and advertising and booths throughout the year.

Legislative
Maria Fischer, Bientech International
mariaf@bientech.net

This committee is designated to act as the Chapter’s single point of contact for all legislative matters that fall within the parameters of WID Chapter interest or focus and bylaws. We work closely with the Chapter’s President and other committee. This year we connected with and developed joint efforts with NDIA legislative committee and the local AFCEA chapter. We built a database of state and legislative officers, and congressional legislators. Our primary goals for the upcoming year are to accomplish the following:

  • Serve the interest of WID membership
  • Align WID Legislative actions to mutual benefit of government and industry
  • Encourage legislators participation in WID
  • Improve WID participation in legislative matters affecting women in defense (i.e.: industry, government, military)
  • Educate political/community leaders concerning WID organization/goals-objectives and strategic initiatives

Marketing & Promotions
(Open)

Founded with the mission to improve the Chapter’s marketing efforts, our goals are:

1) professionally advertise the benefits of membership and chapter events, helping ensure a diverse membership and strong attendance at local WID functions.

2) increase the visibility of the Chapter in San Diego for improved recruiting, professional development, and involvement.

Specific efforts to date include event flyers, updates for Chapter website, and monthly articles on the chapter in the NDIA newsletter. Ideas are being discussed for how to improve the chapter’s marketing efforts for next year. Possibilities include: write-up in a local newspaper or magazine, community volunteer project, chapter newsletter, and distributing WID pens/notepads at local conferences or meetings.
